Job Title: Finance Director Location: Swansea

Pro Staff Construction are currently looking for a Finance Director to join a busy construction contractor based in Swansea.


Role Overview

The Finance Director will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, ensuring robust financial management, and driving strategic financial planning. This role includes managing an accounts team, overseeing financial operations across multiple divisions and SPVs, and providing insightful financial reporting to the board.


Key Responsibilities:


· Lead and manage an accounts team consisting of a junior accountants, accounts assistant, and purchase ledger clerk.

· Oversee the financial activities

· Review and approve VAT returns, payroll, CIS returns, and accounts prepared by the team. Prepare and present group consolidated management accounts on a monthly basis.

· Provide comprehensive financial reports to the board, offering insights and recommendations. Develop and maintain financial forecasts and cashflow forecasts.

· Manage cashflow effectively, ensuring the company's tight cash position is optimally handled. Evaluate and enhance the efficiency of financial processes, eliminating unnecessary steps and improving productivity.

Qualifications:

· Proven experience as a Finance Director or in a similar senior financial management role.

· Ideally a strong background in construction

· Extensive experience with VAT returns, payroll, CIS returns, and account preparation.

· Excellent knowledge of financial forecasting and cashflow management.

· Demonstrated ability to manage tight cash positions effectively.

· Strong leadership and team management skills.

· Proficient in financial software and tools.

· Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

· Relevant accounting qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
